35 Weeks and New Developments

Boy oh boy, what a week it has been so far and I am only two days in. Yesterday we got our car seat which made reality hit that this baby is coming, not like the growing bump didn't give that away.

Today I went to my new doctor who is a civilian doctor off post. I must say it felt kind of bizarre to be back in a "regular" doctors office where it is quiet and "Please Take a Number" signs did not exist. Mike came with me today which was nice but neither one of us had any idea what was in store for us.

First off, I had my vitals taken. My blood pressure read 132/80. Normal blood pressure is 115/75 so needless to say mine was a little high. No big deal right? Wrong, my BP is always high at the doctors office, but my doctor doesn't believe in White Coat Syndrome, so I am officially now a high risk pregnancy. :( Because of my consistent high BP readings I now get to go twice weekly and have non stress tests done on the baby until I deliver. These will be happening every Monday and Thursday. I won't lie I am pretty bummed about this development but all that matters is a healthy baby.

At 28 weeks I took the 1 hour glucose test and failed it by 15 points, so I am having to take the 3 hour test on Thursday. I am not looking forward to drinking that terrible drink again, but alas a girl has to do what a girl has to do.

Oh, and I almost forgot the most awesome development of the day. I get to collect my pee in a jug for 24 hours to monitor my protein levels. And this jug is no incognito jug, it is bright orange and has an even brighter orange sticker that says "Biohazard." I also had blood work done today but that is routine so no awesome news on that.

I also had an ultrasound done today for my new doctor to review. It was fun to see the baby again, he or she has grown a lot since the last time I got to peak in to his or her home. The baby is head down which is a big sigh of relief since doctors will not vaginally deliver breech babies.

So with the doctor appointment, running around to 2 different labs, and waiting in radiology it took us 4 and a half hours to do all that we needed to do for our first appointment. I am exhausted and emotionally drained. Overall I feel good about the health care that I am receiving. I feel it is certainly a high quality than what I was receiving at Blanchfield in Fort Campbell, where I felt I was just a number being pushed through the system.

Okay, so now that we have gotten through the bad news lets look at the growing belly and talk about when baby Saenz will make his or her appearance.

Here is my 35 week bump..

I decided to throw in this last one to show you just exactly how I sit and round I am.

So today with all the news of my health the doctor told me he will not met me go past my due date. He said he would like to deliver me between 38-40 weeks. So baby Saenz will make his or her grand arrival for sure between, October 18th and November 1st.

I really want to have this baby as natural and medication free as possible. I am now going to start researching ways to naturally induce labor so I don't have to be subjected to Pitocin or other induction drugs. Please keep me and the baby in your prayers that both of us can continue to be healthy. I will keep you all updated.

LOVE your update! So excited for you guys. There his some sort of rosebud oil or something that is herbal that will help induce labor. I took those every day the last month. Also, lots of sex helps! the doc will probably tell you that, just thought I would pass it along though... love you girl!!
