Michael left to Afghanistan on Monday for yet again another tour. Every deployment is tough whether it be domestic or abroad, but this deployment has been extremely painful.
You see Mike is an amazing father, husband, friend, brother, and son. He is the most generous and loving person I know. The sheer fact that he has given up the first few months of his daughters life speaks loudly of his character. He wants nothing more than to be with his daughter and myself but he knows that when duty calls he must go.
He has only been gone a few days but I miss so much about him. I miss...
-hearing him sing to Adia
-hearing him sing in the shower
-feeling his warmth next to me in bed
-watching him hold Adia in his "Daddy Hold"
-seeing him play with Chief
-feeling his lips on mine,
I could go on and on but I will restrain myself. Mike's sister, Kiera wrote a beautiful blog about him I invite you to go and read it as well.
Over the next few months our daughter will grow, our marriage will grow stronger, and our love for our family will continue to blossom. Yes, there will be trying times but I know Mike is strong and I am strong so we will survive.
