I am sorry I haven't blogged in a while but with Mike leaving to Afghanistan in less than a week I have been trying to soak up every ounce of time I have with him. This year we had some friends over for Thanksgiving and it was just the two of us for our special early Christmas.
For Thanksgiving we had our good friends Chad and Tanya over for dinner. I made the turkey and some side dishes and Chad and Tanya being sweet brought some side dishes as well. This was my third turkey I have cooked during our marriage...actually I have made Thanksgiving for us every year since we have been married. But back to the turkey I must say that this turkey turned out beautifully and Mike was the lucky one to carve the bird.

The meal was tasty, the drinks we flowing, and well the calories set in pretty quickly. And the boys set up on the couch to watch videos on YouTube for a bit.

After some time to let the food settle we had game night and I must tell you that Chad and Tanya are extremely competitive with one another when it comes to games, so it is always fun to watch them bicker of who is going to win. But neither one of them won that night....nope it was me!! Overall it was a great Thanksgiving and I cant wait to do it again next year!

Now for Christmas!!
I wanted to celebrate Christmas while Mike was still here so we did it on Saturday. Christmas Eve was on Friday and I decided to make Christmas dinner complete with a ham and all the trimmings!
Also I am happy to announce that even Santa participated in our early Christmas, he came to the house to drop off presents from him! Needless to say Mike and I were pretty stoked with what the big guy left especially in our stockings.

Then it was time to open the gifts that we got one another.

It was a great early Christmas and I hope next year Mike and I will be able to celebrate Christmas in Utah with all our family and friends

Merry Christmas you two. I'm so sad for you that deployment is next weekend. It looks like you had a good time though and God willing he will be back just in time to be the best Christmas gift you've ever had. =) I love you guys.
You guys are awesome! I'm so glad you celebrated together this week. I cant believe my bro is about to go.
Give him hugs for me.
Next Christmas can't come soon enough!
LOVE YOU BOTH!
