Let me tell you about my best friend. Her name is Wendy she grew up a block away from me and we always hung out! We had some great adventures ranging from getting in a fight with some girls on State street in Orem to having photo shoots up the canyon. All through Jr. High we were on a quest to date a certain boy (i wont name names it is too embarrassing) and when one of did we found out he was a total nut job. Looking back Jr. High was such a joke, here we thought we were the coolest girls that walked the school when in fact we were the complete opposite. Thankfully we were able to move on to High School....go OHS!
High School was a blast! In our Interior Design class we were given the opportunity to "design" a room for the faculty to have meetings in. We went with an Asian inspired theme....and boy did it turn out awful. I wish I had a picture to post of it....but it was bad. Right after high school I moved out of my parents house and moved to an apartment complex by UVSC called Summerwood. And Wendy well, she found this boy at UVSC that she really liked and moved to Texas with him. When Wendy moved I knew there was something special about this boy and it was only a matter of time before I got word that she was going to get married. 6 months later She and Chad got married!
Now me on the other hand I met Mike the summer of my Senior year and dated him throughout. Most of our dating was long distance since he was in the Army Reserves and was ordered to Fort Carson, CO for a year. Our relationship lasted through the long distance and when Mike moved back to Utah he moved into the same apartment complex as me. Sadly we broke up a few months later, but we tried to remain friends. Mike decided he wanted to go to flight school in the Army and be a helicopter pilot, so I helped him write papers for his packet. A few months later Mike had been accepted and he was moving to Fort Rucker, AL and was never going to be moving back to Utah again. Even though we were no longer together I loved him gave him a Swiss army watch for him to remember me by. We had our last picture taken that day(see below) I gave him a hug and a kiss and said good bye to the love of my life not knowing where the future would take us.
After 6 months living at Fort Rucker and nightly phone calls between us we had never officially gotten back together but we discussed how our lives felt like something was missing and that we wanted to be together again so on December 30, 2005 Mike and I got married.
Now Wendy is married and has an adorable little girl, Isabella and lives in Texas and I am married and live in Kentucky we don't get to have our adventures or go on our "photo documentary hour" But I love looking back at old pictures and remember the good old days when we were younger had no idea what life was going to bring us.
I love you Wendy and no matter how many states divide us I still consider you to be my best friend and I look forward to a day that you and I can play again!
