90 days

Yesterday Mike and I attended his battalions deployment brief where they let us know where he is going, when we can expect him to leave, and all the other crappy details involved in this situation. One phrase that his commander said that stuck with me for the whole day was, "Only 90 days left till we deploy." I knew that it was getting close to Mike being deployed but to hear it from someone else that it was so close felt like a stab to my heart.

It is weird to think that I am about to send my husband to the other side of the world to a place where such turmoil exists. Sure I worry about Mike and how safe he will be, but I feel comforted to know that he is an incredible pilot and he knows his aircraft like the back of his hand. I trust the men that will be with him, they are good men and truly care for each other. I believe his battalion is competent and will bring him home. And I know that God will be with him every step of the way guiding and directing him.

We will be heading to Utah in October to spend some relaxing time with family and friends before Mike leaves. We will be in Utah October 23rd-November 5th. We will be driving across the country and we will be bringing our baby, Chief. See you all soon!

I'm so glad I let you know of Kaja's baptism date when I did. So yeah, keep November 1st reserved for the Jensen/Spurrier group. We are going to have a big dinner afterward. Also on the 25th of October I thought it would be way fun for all of your nieces and nephews to go to the "Boo at the Zoo" trick or treating thing together. It's just an idea... but what could be more fun than a day at the zoo with Kiera's kids and my kids? Nothing I tell you!
