The Painful Process has Begun

Today I had the sad opportunity to help Mike pack his first tuff box to send to Afghanistan. I knew the days were getting closer and closer to him leaving but helping him pack today just slapped me in the face that I only have about 16 weeks left. I just feel that our time together is SO valuable, it is almost overwhelming to think of.

Mike and I were hoping to come home to Utah to visit in October, before he deploys so we could hang out with family and let him just relax. Well tonight he received an email saying that it would be very difficult to get leave scheduled. So it looks like our last family vacation before he leaves may have already some and gone last year. I try to be as positive as possible, but it was really hard to hear that he may be to busy to come home and relax with family and friends.

But I should also say with the Army nothing is written in stone till it happens so it may still be possible for us to come home. I will be praying daily that his leave can get approved and I welcome any of you to pray for us as well, it would be very much appreciated. I hope to see all of you soon with Mike by my side,

good luck Mike!! (and Candice) Thank you for being willing to serve our country! I know its tough. Mandys husband was gone to Iraq for 18 months. She spent many a day here. It was a good time for her and I to get closer but tough on her and her 10 day old baby.
Anyway, where Im going with this...maybe since you are moving here when he is gone it will give you time to bond and be with family. (not saying you arent bonded with your family, but yo uknow what I mean)

I'm even more anxious for September 24th to roll around. We'll have to celebrate a bunch of holidays when I'm there. Lol It will be like this: Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Halloween.(duh) I shall come bearing beef sticks and cranberry mustard! ;)
Kudos to Mike for being willing to be shipped off to "Turban-ville" or "Ala la la la Land."

Oh Candi..I am so glad you are going home! Its going to be a lot better for you than staying at Ft. Campbell. Isnt it hard to help them pack? I didnt like it at all. You are such an amazing person Candi and I am sure everything is going to be fine:) If you need anything at all you know I am here for you...I hope you find a place that meets your requirements, they are very reasonable in my opinion. I love you girl and big hugs to you and your little family!
