Snow in the South

Yesterday morning it began to snow just light flurries nothing big for me and Mike but a huge deal for the southerners. While I was at work I received a phone call saying that all Montgomery county schools (the county where we live) we going to be closing at 12:45 due to the snow storm. Soon after that the radio announced that Fort Campbell was going to be shutting down all base operations at 2 pm. And all this over a few flurries!! Or so I thought.

After a few hours of just relaxing around the house Mike and I decided to go out for sushi with some friends later that night. So we bundled up knowing there was some snow out there and off we went. We decided that snow driving was no big deal since after all we are from the state with the greatest snow on earth! The back roads to the freeway were slick since the plow hadn't gotten to them but we made it to the freeway! Now you would think the freeway would at least be salted and plowed right? Not down here it was just as bad as the back roads. We went 30mph the whole way down to Clarksville it took us about 40 min where noramly it is a 12 min drive. But we made it and so did our friends and the sushi was phenomenal!!! When we went back home the roads had been salted and plowed and the drive went much faster. :)

As of now the snow is not melting and I love that. Any little reminder of home can stay around, well at least till the 19th because the first official day of Spring is the 20th and I want to plant my garden.
